Resume Guide
Personal Information
Personal information is optional. It is against US law for prospective employers to ask questions about age, gender, marital status, religion, race, national origin, military service or health status before hiring. If there is cause for question, indicate your work authorization(s) in "Other."
Other Information
The last bit of information on the first page (if you are using a one-pager or on the second page) is "Other" and can include anything about you that will interest a prospective employer: language and computer skills, special interests, knowledge or talents not evident from your employment history. List professional affiliations, activity in professional organizations, exhibitions, awards, articles or work published, panels, talks, conferences attended, and professional licenses you may have.
Employment Highlights
If using two pages and the second one is for details of work experience, the heading can be "Employment Highlights.” Follow instructions in Professional Experience. Include details not included in the listing of jobs on the first page: budgets managed, team structure, if you have participated in hiring, managed vendors, traveled to Asia to work with a factory, etc.
As a general rule, describe the positions according to the time spent in them and their relative importance to your career. You may want to list, but not describe,

very early positions held unless they add something important to your qualifications in relation to your current objectives. If you had a wide range of responsibilities, but only want to retain some of them in future jobs, write in detail about those you wish to continue to do and simply list the ones you would rather shed, or ignore them. If you have held several positions of equal importance, simply balance the information accordingly.
Easy Reading
Design your resume for easy reading and handling, but do not over design it – it is a business document. Do not go smaller than ten point type. Be religious about readability, clarity, brevity. Do not use color or toned background or graphics which do not enhance readability
