Research Associate (PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME)
Compensation
- Competitive base salary or hourly rate

Reports to: Managing Consultant or Managing Director
Objective
Works closely with outstanding senior consultants/lead recruiters with a passion for what they do and grow into a position of responsibility. Support recruiting consultants in all activities related to the timely and successful completion of senior to executive-level searches.
Responsibilities
- Participate with search consultants in brainstorming research strategy for searches
- With search consultants’ input and participation, set up search project plans and track search progress
- Secondary research – Do online research and run searches through internal and external databases and membership directories to develop lists of target companies, potential candidates and sources (people who might lead to potential candidates)
- Primary research – Uncover and talk to some of the best designers and architects around the world who are creating the structures, spaces, environments, products, and brands of the future
- Call into target companies to generate names of potential candidates, systematically contact potential candidates via telephone or email and persuade potential candidates to consider new opportunities
- Preliminary qualification – Obtain general information from potential candidates (information about current job, previous job, education, etc.) plus preliminary information related to specific searches, and obtain resumes and samples of interested candidates. Write preliminary profile for search consultant’s review
- Documentation and tracking – Keep all relevant documentation (search project plan, status reports, etc.) up-to-date. Update or create new potential candidate and client computer records
Requirements
Skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills in English. Other language skills a plus.
- Undaunted by phone work and persuasive on the phone
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quick learner of other programs, as necessary
- Internet research - able to mine for awards competitions, professional organizations, conferences, etc. Familiar with Hoovers and other business related search engines

Qualifications
- In or have completed a four-year degree program
- Minimum of one year of experience in a busy for-profit office, preferably related to design, branding, and/or innovation and/or dealing in one of the following relevant categories: hospitality, retail, consumer products (of all types), automotive, healthcare/medical, financial services, beauty (cosmetics, skin/haircare, fragrances, etc.)
Senior Consultant/Lead Recruiter (FULL-TIME)
Compensation
- Base salary, plus bonus based on target goals reached

Reports to: Managing Director
Objectives
Manage and fill retained searches in a timely manner. Develop meaningful relationships with clients and candidates, which lead to multiple retained search engagements or other consulting engagements for the company. Commit to continuous improvement of RSSR, including mentoring others. Develop and feed a passion for design and become a resident expert in a design specialty of interest. Pro-actively develop new business.
Responsibilities
Search Delivery 50 -75%
- Learn and use the RSSR search process methodology and tools
- Manage the full search process – kick-off to close and follow up – including all stages from research strategy development and candidate qualification through to offer acceptance, including client management and progress reporting throughout
- Manage multiple searches simultaneously, including managing internal research associates and external research resources
- Proactively offer suggestions to improve RSSR service, including process and deliverables
Business Development 25-50%
- Expand existing client relationships/accounts
- Develop new business – generate leads, write proposals, deliver pitches, negotiate deals to close
- Represent company in a positive way at trade and related functions and events
- Network and develop relationships with clients and candidates that reflect well on the company, working with them to develop a deep understanding of their needs and motivations
- Become a trusted advisor to the design industry and a design industry expert - continually develop and deepen interest, knowledge, understanding of design, how it’s evolving, how it adds value and makes a difference
- Continually deepen knowledge in specific discipline of interest
Requirements
Search (or other) Process Expertise
5+ years experience in recruitment (preferably including at least 2 in retained, senior to executive
level search) experience OR
Industry Experience or Interest
- Design & Innovation - Exposure or experience in branding, industrial and/or product design,architecture/interior design, user interface/experience, digital media, marketing and/or
communications - Interest in how design and innovation are transforming the way companies do business and how people live their lives
- Relevant categories – Hospitality, retail, consumer products (of all types), automotive, healthcare/medical, financial services, beauty (cosmetics, skin/hair-care, fragrances, etc.)
Skills
- Superior communication skills – verbal and written – in English. Other language skills a plus
- Excellent influencing and persuading skills – able to build case and explain rationale behind own point of view; objection resolution
